Hello, Iβm Ayesha!
In the summer of 2019, Mirror Me Write was just a small seed planted in my head. I didnβt really know how I was going to pull this off with a family and a full time job, yet here we are!
Weβve created a beautiful community of individuals who all share our common interest, to normalise representation and our tribe continues to grow.
As an educator myself, I have been able to work directly with schools and teachers to effect change in their curriculum, through recommendations and sourcing book titles.
It is important to us that all children, particularly from marginalised communities, should see themselves in stories. This will allow them to feel valued in the way that they deserve. We are passionate about driving this inclusivity from our base in the North. For us, βRepresentation is not a privilege, itβs a rightβ and we are glad to be part of this movement.

Weβre showcasing the books that help you step into your power!
One of the most vibrant and beautifully illustrated books, weβve seen. Based on the emotive poem written by Amyra Leon; through the eyes of a child and a motherβs wisdom, we follow a conversation around what freedom means and how it can be attained.
βI wonder then
What Freedom is
Is it a place?
Is it a thought?
Can it be stolen?
Can it be bought? .....β
What a beautiful way to generate discussion amongst young people and expand their understanding of the concept of Freedom.
The possibilities with this book, as a school learning resource. It featured amongst our top book recommendations for #PhilosophyForChildren.
